1) I spent the entire weekend at a staff retreat with ![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
unreckless and the rest of the the RAs in my building. This was supposed to be a "staff-togetherness excursion with training and productivity" sort of shindig. Instead, we spent the entire time hurling innuendos at each other and chilling in the hot tub. So...yeah. Although it was really fun. We had our own cabin at Old Man's Cave, and there was a fireplace (yay pyromania), a full kitchen (yay chicken alfredo), and a big TV (yay Seven Brides for Seven Brothers). So basically you had eight twenty-year-olds and their thirty-five-year-old adviser playing board games and sleeping all weekend. And we all learned more things about each other than we ever wanted to know. Fuzzy backs and snoring and pregnant boys and...wait, that was all Ben.
The weekend was defined for me by John's shit-eating grin when Nicci and I realized he wasn't wearing his swimsuit under his towel, and Dana running into a closed door in the middle of the night, and getting poked in the shoulder every time I happened to sway a little bit to Bruce Springsteen because I've always given Ryan such a hard time for being a ridiculous fanboy, and Lisa going "It's a Jesus fan!", and Victoria and I cracking the hell up over wing!fic (and my subsequent "rowr" eyebrow-quirk when I watched Dogma for the first time), and Mike and I playing blacklight putt-putt in Lancaster because we got separated from the group. Loads of fun, y'all. I got Zagnut bars and lost a competition to a pair of fighting Bush/Dukakis figurines. Awesome.
(As a bit of an aside, this was the first time I've ever participated in a mixed-gender overnight event. I'm really skittish in such situations, and it was unofficially decided that this was "Make Pyrebi Uncomfortable Weekend" by Ben and Victoria. Luckily they didn't get carried away.)
2) I can't believe the quarter is almost over. Does time always go faster the older you get?
3) I voted today! Go me! (Although it didn't do a lick of good, because hey, there's absolutely no competition for the Republican candidacy!)
